Vi var to som leide Chris en hel dag. Vi ønsket å lære å fiske med Tenkara teknikk i nærheten av vår hytte. Han forberedte seg godt og gav oss en opplevelsesrik dag. Målet var å kunne vite hvor fisken står, også etter at Chris har dratt. Begge ønsker å kjøpe Tenkara utstyr da det var en enkel måte å fiske med flue. Jeg kan anbefale Chris på det sterkeste, en veldig hyggelig mann som hadde mye å lære bort
Wife and I spent a week fishing around Trysil with Chris. Chris has a great guide persona and we could not be happier with our trip. We fished a variety of waters, each more beautiful than the last. Hatches were thick, fish were willing, and our cabin on the river (Chris’s recommendation) was perfect. Altogether the best overseas trip we’ve done to date. We will be back!
My friend and I spend a whole day with Chris. He is very professional and was well prepared before our arrival at Trysil river. Personally, I learnt a lot from him during the day. He got me thinking a lot about my drifts, and my nymphing technique skills improved during the day. I will definitively recommend Chris as a guide to others.
Jeg leide Chris som guide for å lære nymfeteknikk. Vi fisket en dag i Trysilelva og jeg hadde stort utbytte av dagen. Chris er en veldig hyggelig guide med stor kunnskap om fiske og jeg anbefaler ham virkelig. Det kom mange fisker opp av vannet og den største veide over 1 kg.
We spent a week in the Trysil area and were shown by Chris various beautiful spots to fish, in the Trysilselva, lakes and smaller streams. A beautiful are to fish, adventurous and diverse. Chris is a warm personality and a good guide and teacher. He convinced my wife to come along and helped here catch 5 grayling on her first fishing session ever. It shows the potential of Trysilselva and the skills of Chris. He helped me to develop my tightline nymphing from close to zero to where I was able to catch fish on my own. And he not only took care of the fishing but also for coffee and on a full day lunch as well. I highly recommend booking a trip with Chris.
I spent a full day and 3 evenings with Chris at Trysil. Chris is a first class character to guide. He is patient, fun, very knowledgable and committed to you catching fish. We fished 4 different spots either with nymphs or drys and I had my first Tenkara lesson. We tried different techniques, some I wasn’t used to. Chris then demonstrated his patience when unraveling my many tangles. We caught grayling at every session several were bigger than I’ve caught before, I learnt a lot. Thank you Chris for a great few days.
We spent 1 week in Trysil and me and my dad spent one super good day with Chris. His knowledge really made the trip. Would really recommend Chris, he has a wide knowledge and showed a complete new way for us about fishing. We shared many laugh during the day and his methods made me catch 49 big graylings in total, and also how and what to look after in the water. He also helped my father that has movement restrictions how to work around this, many thanks for that. He was super happy about that. Also very good food by chef Chris and looking forward for the next trip were I will definitely contact him once more for more tips and trix.
My wife and I spent 2 days fishing different techniques from Euro nymphing to Tenkara. I basically had no experience with the Euro techniques other than my own tight line attempts. He helped me refine my drifts and got into a few grayling along the way! Spent an afternoon refining my Tenkara technique as well learning a bit more about reading the current to get the best drifts and some casting improvements. Chris has a great personality and was very enjoyable to spend a couple of days with. He was also good enough to send some techniques and info to improve my fishing skills after my trip. Will be looking to work with him in the future.
I was in Oslo for meetings and managed to slip away for a day. Found Chris on the web and sent a message not knowing if I would get a response. Within 12 hours he had contacted me and we exchanged a few messages and the trip was set up. He gave a few suggestions as to where I should stay as well and where to eat!
Everything went to plan. After my 2 hour drive from the airport he picked me up at 9.30am. He had sorted waders out for me as well as kit (had nothing with me). The weather was amazing. Blue skies and sunshine (which usually does not bode well in my experience for fishing) so I did not have huge expectations.
However within minutes of arriving at one of the beats I knew there were fish. I was after the grayling as I have never fished for these. Rose a number of fish in the first stretch of water but hooked none. It was exciting fishing though and the river and surroundings were amazing. 80 per cent of the reason I was there!
Chris made an epic lunch for me with his mobile kitchen. eggs, bacon and chives. Tasted amazing.
We then fished after lunch at a little brook after brown trout and caught a lovely wild brownie and missed a number.
In the PM we went grayling hunting and found a nice stretch of river with some pools where I managed to hook and land about 5.
Chris knows his fishing and is an experienced guide. He taught me lots of tricks and tips when dry fly fishing from the presentation of the fly to when and how to strike. I have fished a fair bit in my life but love learning more tips and tricks and Chris showed me some of these.
So for all you guys who may be down in Oslo for meetings or business and are keen anglers. Do what I did….tell your wife or partner you have another day of meetings and head to Trysil. You will be looked after, learn and develop your skills and above all feel the tight lines of grayling. Thank you Chris’s for a great day. I hope to be back one day.
Me, my mother and father in law booked Chris as a guide for a whole day. We had a great day even though it was a tough water level in the rivers. It was a great experience and we learned a lot from Chris, technique, how to read the water and what flies to use depending what type of weather.

I had the pleasure of spending a day with Chris as my guide, aiming to learn the basics of fly fishing. Chris is an outstanding guide and instructor with an exceptional willingness to impart both knowledge and experience. During the day, we went through basic casting techniques, different types of fly fishing, and surprisingly thorough instruction on reading the water to understand where the fish are. The day being crowned with catching my first fish certainly didn’t hurt the impression.
Chris truly went the extra mile to ensure I understood every step. His teaching method was clear and easy to follow, making the learning process both fun and rewarding. He was always patient and encouraging, which made me feel confident and motivated to improve my skills. His deep knowledge of fly fishing and ability to interpret nature’s signals were both impressive and inspiring.
It is clear that Chris is passionate about fly fishing, and his enthusiasm is contagious. His passion and expertise made the day both educational and memorable. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone interested in learning fly fishing, whether a beginner or someone with some experience. My husband and I spent a whole day with Chris. Chris studied our experience in advance. He sent us a fly list by email in advance. He has a good structure for the day. We visited a few fishing spots. There was also a structure in the wading and in the difficulty of the fishing.
While fishing, he immediately sees what you can do better and gives instructions. You get the right flies from him. The quality of the flies is also very good. Those flies do not fall apart after catching a few fish.
For lunch he prepared reindeer. That was delicious.
Chris has good communication skills and makes it a pleasant day!
I went this summer on a guided fishing trip with Chris. Together with my sons, who had never fished on a river, we had a great time. Our goal was to catch grayling on the dry fly and my oldest son had set his mind on trout.
Because the weather (30+ degrees Celsius) didn’t cooperate Chris adjusted the program.
We had a great day and learned a lot about how to read the river, where the hotspots are and also got some casting tips and new fishing techniques. It was a very succesfull day where we all caught a lot of grayling on the dry fly and even the oldest managed to catch trout on the dry fly.
We had a great day with Chris and both my sons are hooked on dry fly fishing now.
Chris is great guide who really listens to the wishes of his customers. He has a lot of knowledge on flyfishing techniques and accurate local knowledge. A very good cook, the lunch he provided was really good.
Jo and I had a great day with Chris on the river. Very experienced guide combination of dry fly, which Jo was successful with. Dry fly didn’t work for me so we switched to Euro nymphing and had great success catching really nice sized grayling. Chris really knows the water well and we caught fish in both parts of the river we fished. Recommended
ik heb een week samen met Chris mogen vissen in de Trysils Elva. Prachtige stekken bezocht en vele vlagzalmen kunnen vangen. s Morgens begonnen daarna een uitgebreide lunch klaargemaakt door Chris. Daarna weer vissen op een andere stek. ik heb de meeste vlagzalmen gevangen met droge vliegen die Chris regelmatig deed drogen en invetten. deze reis was een hele mooie belevenis en ik kan het zeker aanraden!!
